the America movie

God bless you Ms America
I know your heart is blue

I grew up in the sixties
I might be just like you

I tripped and fell into a rabbit hole
That my eyes and ears would see

I can’t hear what you say to me
When all you do is scream

Everyone and everything
Will meet you where their at

A ladder that we climb up to
To see the sky come back

I went into the movies
I looked up at the screen

Went back to the projector room
rehash all our broken dreams

Its funny how things look different
When it’s called the past

A series of repeat events
To lay you on your ass

To finally give and just say
God please take me from this place

I know you did not make this substitute that takes the place of grace

Fear is the intolerance
unleashed both sides just see

It cuts accross the barriers
Of race, of politics and creed

The answer comes with ease
Like simplicity itself

What you do and say to me
You are doing to yourself
