Forgiveness

Dad pour another scotch
George let’s have another drink
I Fell again on my face
since this world was replaced
by all that covered up what we knew

Mom let’s hide in the basement
and have another drink
Be it Bourbon or rum
for our time here under the sun
It never was more than or less
than these words or that ink

Tell your tale from your pockets
with holes in your brain and your shoes
You can turn heaven to hell
what you buy what you sell
when you realize that me was really just you

Forgiveness waits quietly in a corner
It sits and judges not
the lessons we see point to infinity
it’s ok to admit you got lost
